Brief History

Bonita Springs FL real estate grew slowly in the latter third of the 1800s. Homesteaders didn’t rush in, but they got there. The first school was built in 1887. The first business catering to visitors was constructed by 1910, the Eagle Hotel. In 1912, a group surveyed the area and began laying out a town. With the idea of being a tourist attraction in mind, the area was expanded with sites like the Everglades Winter Gardens. Eventually, I-75 and U.S. 41 Bypass opened the town up. Today there are shopping malls, offices, outstanding golf courses and beauteous Bonita Springs FL homes.
